NOTICE OF REFERENDUM SPECIAL ELECTION

CITY OF WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA

Public notice is hereby given that pursuant to an enabling ordinance duly

adopted by the City Council of the City of West Melbourne, Florida (the City),

a referendum has been called and ordered to be held within the City concurrent

with the general election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, between the hours of

7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, at which time the following City Charter amendment

proposition will be submitted to the qualified electors of the City:

Charter Amendment Imposing Term Limits on the Mayor and City Council Members

Currently, the West Melbourne City Charter does not provide term limits for the

mayor and members of the city council. Shall the City Charter be amended to

limit the mayor and councilmembers to three consecutive four-year terms for each

office?
