NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER
ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE
JULIAN GROVES MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING AND BENEFIT UNIT
Notice is hereby given that the Hendry County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on December 10, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at the Hendry County Courthouse, Commission Chambers, 25 E. Hickpochee Ave., LaBelle, Florida, to consider an ordinance establishing the Julian Groves Municipal Service Tasking and Benefit Unit:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF HENDRY COUNTY, FLORIDA ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING AND BENEFIT UNIT (MSTBU) KNOWN AS THE JULIAN GROVES MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING AND BENEFIT UNIT (MSTBU), PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 125, FLORIDA STATUTES, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE OPERATIONS AND SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE JULIAN GROVES MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING AND BENEFIT UNIT; PROVIDING FOR CREATION OF THE UNIT; SETTING FORTH THE PURPOSE AND DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE JULIAN GROVES MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING AND BENEFIT UNIT; ESTABLISHING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF JULIAN GROVES MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING AND BENEFIT UNIT; PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL POWERS FOR THE JULIAN GROVES MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING AND BENEFIT UNIT; NAMING AND CREATION OF THE FUND; PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS UTILIZING THE UNIFORM METHOD OF COLLECTION; PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF AD VALOREM ASSESSMENTS; ESTABLISHING A REVERTER, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; ALTERNATIVE OR SUPPLEMENTAL AUTHORITY; PROVIDING FOR MODIFICATIONS THAT MAY ARISE FROM CONSIDERATION AT PUBLIC HEARING; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Interested parties may appear and be heard at the public hearing with respect to the proposed ordinance. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for inspection on weekdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Hendry County Attorneys Office, 110 Broward Avenue, LaBelle, Florida.
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, he/she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
