NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT

A COUNTY RESOLUTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intention of The Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, Florida, at a public hearing to be held at 9:02 a.m., on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 in the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, Board Chambers, First Floor, 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida, to consider the adoption of the following Resolution:

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, PURSUANT TO PART Ill, CHAPTER 163, FLORIDA STATUTES, RELATING TO COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT: FINDING THAT THERE IS A BLIGHTED AREA WITHIN ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND A SHORTAGE OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME HOUSEHOLDS, SPECIFICALLY WITHIN THE MYRTLE GROVE COMMUNITY; FINDING THAT REHABILITATION CONSERVATION, REDEVELOPMENT, OR A COMBINATION OF THESE IN THE MYRTLE GROVE COMMUNITY IS NECESSARY IN THE INTEREST OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, MORALS, AND WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY; FINDING THAT THERE IS A NEED TO DESIGNATE MYRTLE GROVE AS A REDEVELOPMENT AREA; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

All interested parties may appear at the public hearing and be heard regarding the proposed Resolution. A draft of the Resolution is available for public review at the Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency, 221 Palafox Place, Suite 305, Pensacola, FL 32502.

The Board of County Commissioners does not make verbatim transcripts of its meetings; any person who wishes to appeal (to Circuit Court) any matter considered at such meetings or hearing will need to independently ensure preparation of a verbatim transcript of the proceeding that includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal will be based.
