SPECIAL EXCEPTION REQUEST
HEARING NUMBER BOA 1957
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that a PUBLIC HEARING will be held before the Highlands County Board of Adjustment on the 11th day of February 2025, beginning at 3:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the County Commissioners' Board Room, Highlands County Government Center Building, 600 South Commerce Avenue, Sebring, Florida, to consider a Special Exception to allow a special exception to allow a sand, gravel, rock or stone pit quarry or other mining operation involving the extraction of natural materials, removing of earth or topsoil, and a landfill limited exclusively to natural vegetative material, and/or clean and asbestos free concrete, cinder block, bricks, and ceramic tile within the area described as follows: Farm Lots 24 and 25, in Section 22, Township 35 South, Range 29 East, Map of Suburban Tracts & Farms of DeSoto, Florida, according to the map or plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 3, Page 21, Public Records of DeSoto County, Florida, which Highlands County was formerly a part.

All interested persons may appear and be heard at the time and place specified above. Any person who might wish to appeal any decision made by this committee/group, in public hearing or meeting is hereby advised that he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record will include the testimony and evidence upon which such appeal is to be based.
