NOTICE OF SECOND AND FINAL PUBLIC HEARING
OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
(CDBG)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Leon County will conduct apublic hearing on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as such matter may beheard, at the County Commission Chambers, 5th Floor, Leon County Courthouse, 301 S.Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32301, to obtain public comments on potential projects forapplication to the Florida Department of Commerce for a Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2024 SmallCities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
Leon County has drafted an application to the Florida Department of Commerce for a FFY 2024Small Cities CDBG for $7.15 million in the Neighborhood Revitalization category. The Countywill utilize awarded funds to make improvements to the Fort Braden Community Center located at16387 Blountstown Highway, Tallahassee, Florida. The County is currently in the process ofdeveloping a final project scope and cost estimates; however, the project will include, but not belimited to, roof replacement, kitchen upgrades, and the installation of a generator that would allowthe facility to be utilized as a comfort station in the Fort Braden community following a naturaldisaster. At least 51% of households within the projects service area that will benefit from theproject are estimated to be low-to-moderate income households as this meets the HUDs LMIBenefit National Objective. Activity and dollar amounts are as follows:

A draft copy of the application will be available for review and included in the April 8, 2025 Boardof County Commissioners meeting materials posted on the Countys website atwww.leoncountyfl.gov. A physical copy of the draft application will also by available for reviewby 8 p.m. on April 4, 2025, during normal business hours in the County Administration office,located in the Leon County Courthouse at 301 S. Monroe Street, 5 th Floor, Tallahassee, Florida32301. Leon County will also broadcast the public hearing on Comcast channel 16, the Leon CountyFlorida channel on Roku, the Countys Facebook page(https://www.facebook.com/LeonCountyFL), YouTube channel(https://www.youtube.com/user/LeonCountyFL), X (https://x.com/LeonCounty), and website(www.LeonCountyFL.gov).
All interested parties are invited to present their comments on potential projects at the publichearing at the time and place set out above. Interested parties may also provide virtual real-timepublic comments during the public hearing. After the Board of County Commissioners agenda isposted online, interested parties wishing to provide virtual real-time public comments mustcomplete and submit the registration form provided athttps://www2.leoncountyfl.gov/coadmin/agenda/ by 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025.
Following submittal of the registration form, further instructions for participating in the meetingwill be provided. Please note that Board ofCounty Commissioners Policy 01-05, Article IX., Section E., entitled Addressing the Board, andArticle IX., Section F., entitled Decorum, shall remain in full force and effect.
Anyone wishing to appeal the action of the Board with regard to this matter will need a record ofthe proceedings and should ensure that a verbatim record is made. Such record should include thetestimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, pursuant to Section 286.0105,Florida Statutes.
