The permittee will construct and operationally test one, non-hazardous Class V Group 2, aquifer recharge well RW-1 and associated monitor wells DMW-1 and SMW-1. Injection well RW-1 will be constructed to recharge reclaimed water treated to high-level disinfection (HLD) standards from the City of Bradenton Wastewater Treatment Facility. The maximum injection rate for RW-1 shall be between 5,507 and 10,417 gallons per minute and the maximum injection volume for RW-1 shall be between 7.93 and 15 million gallons per day. All fluid injected into RW-1 must meet the primary and secondary drinking water standards. No injection can occur that does not meet all standards.
The aquifer recharge well will be constructed with a 24 or 16-inch diameter casing set to 900 or 1,400 feet below land surface (bls) depending on site conditions, with the total depth of 1,600 feet bls. Monitor well DMW-1 will be completed from 900 to 1,100 feet bls and located in or above the recharge zone. Monitor well SMW-1 will be constructed only if the top of the recharge zone is at approximately 900 feet bls and the 16-inch casing is not used in aquifer recharge well RW-1. The monitor wells will be constructed in the Floridan aquifer. The Department has permitting jurisdiction under Chapter 403 of the Florida Statutes and the rules adopted thereunder.
