NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONSIDER

THE ADOPTION OF A COUNTY ORDINANCE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Okeechobee County, Florida, will hold a public hearing, being on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 9:00 A.M., in the Board of County Commissioners Meeting Room (the Judge William L. Hendry Courtroom) at the Okeechobee County Courthouse, 304 NW 2nd Street, Okeechobee, Florida, for the purpose of receiving comments and suggestions in consideration of the adoption of a proposed Ordinance. The title of said proposed Ordinance is:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 2-19, CITIZEN PARTICIPATION ENTITLEMENT; REQUIREMENTS, OF DIVISION 2, RULES OF DECORUM AND CIVILITY, OF CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, OF THE OKEECHOBEE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO REVISE PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS RELATED TO CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN COMPLIANCE WITH FLORIDAS GOVERNMENT IN THE SUNSHINE LAW AND THE FIRST AMENDMENT OF THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

A copy of this Notice of Intent and proposed ordinance will be available for public inspection at the County Administration office, 304 NW 2nd Street, Okeechobee, Florida each week day, Monday through Friday, except holidays, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.

If any person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board of County Commissioners with respect to any matter considered at such hearing, that person will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
