In accordance with Section 932.704(6)(a) and (b), Florida Statutes, and to all others who may claim an interest in the following property:
$27,037.81 IN U.S. CURRENCY AND/OR U.S. CURRENCY RECEIVED FROM TRUIST BANK
On or about April 1, 2025, the City of Palm Beach Gardens ("Petitioner"), through its Police Department, served a search warrant on Truist Bank to seize the U.S. Currency in personal and business accounts for Anthony Bennett Mattys and Mattys Enterprise LLC determined to be used to operate and facilitate the sale of narcotics and money laundering. The illegal activity is detailed in the City of Palm Beach Gardens' Florida Contraband Amended Complaint for Forfeiture and Affidavit in Support of Application for Seizure Probable Cause Determination.
On April 4, 2025, Truist Bank issued correspondence directing to freeze and seize all funds pertaining to the account of Mattys Enterprise LLC in the amount of $17,693.96. Additionally, on April 8, 2025, Truist Bank issued correspondence directing to freeze and seize all funds pertaining to the account of Anthony B. Mattys in the amount of $9,343.85. These funds were forwarded to the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department. On April 15, 2025, the Petitioner deposited $17,693.96 into the Law Enforcement Trust Fund pertaining to the seizure of the account of Mattys Enterprise LLC and $9,353.85 into the Law Enforcement Trust Fund pertaining to the seizure of the account of Anthony B. Mattys.
The Petitioner filed a Florida Contraband Amended Complaint for Forfeiture in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida on May 14, 2025 for the purpose of obtaining a Final Order of Forfeiture of the subject property upon producing proof that the same was used in violation of Sections 932.701-706, Florida Statutes.
