NOTICE OF ADOPTION

In the Superior Court of Worth County, State of Georgia, Adoption Number: 25-AD-0002 NOTICE OF ADOPTION TO: Any unknown biological father of a female child born in Tifton, Tift County, Georgia on May 7, 2025 to Timberly Malai Bevell. A Petition for her adoption has been filed by Timothy and Shelby Mashburn and is pending in the Superior Court of Worth County, Georgia, Case Number 25-AD-0002. Be advised that your parental rights to the child will be terminated upon the finalization of the adoption. The Petitioners have alleged that pursuant to O.C.G.A. 19-8-12(f), the surrender of your parental rights shall not be required as a prerequisite to the filing of a petition for adoption of the child pursuant to O.C.G.A. 19-8-13, and all parental rights you may have with respect to the minor child will be lost and you will neither receive notice nor be entitled to object to the adoption of the child unless you file (1) A petition to legitimate the child pursuant to Code Section 19-7-22 as a separate civil action; (2) Notice of the filing of the petition to legitimate with the court in which the action under this Code section, if any, is pending; and (3) Notice of the filing of the petition to legitimate to the person or agency who provided such notice to such biological father. A hearing has been scheduled for Monday, July 14, 2025 at 9:30 AM before the Honorable Bill Reinhardt, at the Worth County Superior Courthouse, located at 201 North Main Street, Sylvester, Georgia, to receive notice you must notify the Attorney for Petition of your address for service of any notice. You have no obligation to file an answer, but you do have the right to appear at the hearing and show cause why your parental rights should not be terminated by their adoption.
