PUBLIC NOTICE
CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING A CITY ORDINANCE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Okeechobee will conduct a Public Hearing on June 17, 2025, 6:00 PM, or soon thereafter, at City Hall, 55 SE 3rd AVE, Okeechobee, FL, to consider final reading for adoption of the following Ordinance into law (No. 1315):
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA; AMENDING THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, ORDINANCE NO. 635 AS AMENDED, BY REVISING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP ON A CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN FROM SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (SFR) TO INDUSTRIAL (I), APPLICATION NO. 25-007-SSA; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION OF ORDINANCE AND REVISED FUTURE LAND USE MAP IN THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Ordinance addresses Small Scale Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map Amendment Application No. 25-007-SSA, submitted by Keith Goodbread, President for the property owner Goodbread Holdings, LLC., on 2.77 acres located at NE 9th ST. Legal Description: LOTS 1 THROUGH 13, AND THE NORTH 40 FEET OF LOTS 14 THROUGH 26, OF BLOCK 50, OKEECHOBEE, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 5, PAGE 5, PUBLIC RECORDS OF OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
The public and interested parties are invited to attend and be heard and may submit written/oral comments before or at the meeting. The documents pertaining to the above referenced items may be inspected/viewed at the address above, Rm 100, during regular business hours, Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, except for holidays, or contact the Office of the City Clerk staff at 863.763.9814. The documents will be posted online prior to the Public Hearing date with the City Council agenda materials on the website https://www.cityofokeechobee.com/ AgendaMInutes-CityCouncil.html.
BE ADVISED that should you intend to show any document, picture, video, or items to the Council in support or opposition to any item on the agenda, a copy of the document, picture, video, or item must be provided to the City Clerk for the Citys records. ANY PERSON DECIDING TO APPEAL any decision made by the Council with respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need to ensure a verbatim record of the proceeding is made and the record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal will be based.
