NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Leon County, Florida, will conduct a public hearingon Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as such matter may be heard, at the County CommissionChambers, 5th Floor, Leon County Courthouse, 301 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida, to consider the adoptionof a resolution adopting a non-ad valorem assessment and non-ad valorem assessment roll for each private for-profit andnot-for-profit hospital that provides inpatient hospital services to Medicaid enrollees and that holds a right of possessionand right of use to real property which is located within the geographic boundaries of the County, as depicted and setforth below (each, an Assessed Property). The purpose of the assessment is to finance intergovernmental transfers,consistent with federal guidelines, that fund the non-federal share of certain Medicaid and/or Medicaid-managed carepayments. The special assessment helps hospitals recoup unmet costs expended in the delivery of care to Medicaidpatients by providing access to additional federal funds. As a result, the assessment directly and specially benefitsAssessed Properties and supports the provision of health care services to Medicaid, indigent, and uninsured members ofthe Countys community. The assessment shall be invoiced and collected annually pursuant to an additional andalternative method specified in Section 197.3631, Florida Statutes. The assessment shall equal 4.40% of net inpatientrevenue and 10.61% of net outpatient revenue for each assessed property. The assessment roll is on file and open topublic inspection.
Leon County will also broadcast the public hearing on Comcast channel 16, the Leon County, Florida channel on Roku,and the Countys Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LeonCountyFL/), YouTube channel(https://www.youtube.com/user/LeonCountyFL), and web site (www.LeonCountyFL.gov).
All interested parties are invited to present their comments at the public hearing at the time and place set out above.
Interested parties may also provide virtual real-time public comments during the public hearing. Interested partieswishing to provide virtual real-time public comments must complete and submit the registration form provided athttps://www2.leoncountyfl.gov/coadmin/agenda/ by 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025. Following submittal of theregistration form, further instructions for participating in the meeting will be provided. Persons needing assistance withregistering or providing real-time comments may contact County Administration via telephone at (850) 606-5300. Pleasenote that Board of County Commissioners Policy 01-05, Article IX., Section E., entitled Addressing the Commission,and Article IX., Section F., entitled Decorum, shall remain in full force and effect.

Anyone wishing to appeal the action of the Board with regard to this matter will need a record of the proceedings andshould ensure that a verbatim record is made. Such record should include the testimony and evidence upon which theappeal is to be based, pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes.
