Public Notice All interested parties within Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties are hereby advised that the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) is applying to the Florida Department of Transportation for a capital grant under Section 5310 of the Federal Transit Act of 1991, as amended, for the purchase of ten (10) paratransit vehicles to be used for the provision of public transit services within rural areas of Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. The wheelchair accessible vehicles will include on-board mobile data terminals, at an estimated total cost of $1,900,000. Additionally, LYNX is applying to the Florida Department of Transportation for a capital grant under Section 5339 of the Federal Transit Act of 1991, as amended, for the purchase of two (2) Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to be used for the provision of public transit services within rural areas of Orange and Osceola Counties. The wheelchair accessible vehicles will include on-board mobile data terminals and fareboxes, at an estimated total cost of $2,400,000. This public notice is to provide an opportunity for Public Hearings for both projects listed above, and to advise all interested parties of the service intended if grant funds are awarded to ensure that those services will not represent a duplication of current or proposed services provided by existing transit or paratransit operators in the area. This hearing will be conducted if and only if a written request is received by January 5, 2026, by 5:00pm EST.
