NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Groveland, Florida, will hold a public hearing on August 17, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the E.L. Puryear Building, 243 S. Lake Avenue, for the second and final reading of Ordinance No. 2026-16. The ordinance in its entirety may be inspected at the office of the City Clerk located at 156 S. Lake Avenue, Groveland, Florida, 34736, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVELAND, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING DIVISION 2, SECTION 2- 81 OF THE CITY CODE TO ESTABLISH 6:30 PM AS THE STANDARD MEETING TIME OF THE CITY COUNCIL WITH ADJOURNMENT BY 11:00 P.M. ABSENT AN AFFIRMATIVE VOTE TO CONTINUE FOR UP TO ONE HOUR PAST 11:00 P.M.; AMENDING SECTION 2-86 OF THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE ORDER OF BUSINESS TO ENABLE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO ADDRESS THE CITY COUNCIL NEAR THE BEGINNING OF MEETINGS REGARDING TOPICS NOT ON THE AGENDA; AMENDING SECTION 2-88 OF THE CITY CODE TO ESTABLISH THAT APPLICANTS SEEKING TO AMEND THE FUTURE LAND USE OR ZONING OF REAL PROPERTY OR SEEKING ANOTHER DEVELOPMENT ORDER SHALL HAVE UP TO 10 MINUTES FOR AN INITIAL PRESENTATION AND 5 MINUTES FOR REBUTTAL, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS, CODIFICATION, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Persons are advised that if they decide to appeal any decision made at this meeting, they will need a record of the proceeding, and for such purposes, they may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made which includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based, per Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes.

Interested parties may appear at the City Council public meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.
