Water Main Replacement

General Notice

The Big Bend Water Authority (BBWA) (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

Water Main Replacement Project

Water Distribution System Improvements - Ph. 2

Mott MacDonald Project No. 502100609-002

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Big Bend Water Authority located at 1313 1st Ave SE, Steinhatchee, FL 32359 until October 20th, 2026 at 2:00 PM local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

The Project includes the following Work:

Project consists of the abandonment of the existing water main and approximately 5,700 l.f. of new 8” PVC water main including, valves, fittings, hydrants, and transferring existing services to the new water main.

The Project has an expected duration of 330 days.

Envelope(s) containing bids must be sealed and marked “Water Distribution System Improvements – Phase II.” Any bids received after the stipulated time of bid opening will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.

Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Bids shall be on a Unit Price basis, as indicated on the Proposal Bid Form, with key subcontractors listed as required.

Obtaining the Bidding Documents

Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. Prospecitve Bidder’s may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents via email request sent to Colton.Mcnac@mottmac.com and Jennifer.Bouch@mottmac.com. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Bidding Documents in pdf format may be obtained by means of a temporary ftp (file transfer portal) site from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Addenda, if any, will be provided electronically to plan holders and a return receipt will be requested to verify receipt.

A pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on October 6th, 2026 at 10:00 AM local time at Big Bend Water Authority, 1313 1st Ave SE, Steinhatchee, FL 32359. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not required.
